ScatteringSeed has been serving in Albuquerque since 2022.

ScatteringSeed Homeless Ministry is inspired by Jesus’ parable of the farmer scattering seed, which can be found in Matthew 13:3-8. Our mission, as farmers for God, is to reach out to homeless individuals and scatter seed among them. We know that as we reach out and spread the good news—the news that Christ has the power to help them recover—that much of the seed will be eaten by birds, scorched by the sun, and choked by other plants around them. We also have faith that God will pair us with the right farmers, He will put the right words in our mouths and the right people in our paths. We know that some seed we scatter will fall on good soil and produce a crop much great than what was sown.

Then he (Jesus) told them many things in parables, saying:
“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop-a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
